THE Zimbabwe Under-19 cricket squad assembled in Harare yesterday ahead of their clash with Namibia in three one-day international friendly matches which are in preparation for the 2016 International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 Cricket World Cup to be held in Bangladesh.

The Namibia Under-19 travelling party arrives in the country today for the encounters which are scheduled for Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. All the matches will be played at Old Hararians Sports Club.

In the absence of their coach Walter Chawaguta, who has travelled as fielding coach for the senior squad to the ICC Cricket World Cup, the Zimbabwe Under-19 side will be under the guidance of Ian Tinker, a long-serving Zimbabwe cricket development coach.

Alois Tichana will continue as assistant coach, with Nicholas Singo as team manager.

The selectors have retained the bulk of the players who struggled to impress in the Cubs Week tournament in South Africa early last month.

Zaheer Tufail of Prince Edward and the Churchill High School duo of Richard Ngarava and Takudzwa Chakaodza are fresh inclusions in the 18-man squad.
