Yesterday, February 1, signalled the beginning of the month of love as Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14.
Valentine’s Day is a day some, if not most men dislike, simply because they are expected to shower their girlfriends/wives with presents to show their affection. Some committed men, however, take their time to visit top boutiques, florists, card/gift shops as well as retail outlets to look for special gifts.
Women usually use the celebration of love to gauge how committed their partners are.
Sadly, not everyone is in love due to various reasons so some people, especially beautiful women, feel pressured and find it embarrassing to spend the day without a gift being delivered to them. As a result, they go to extremes, buying gifts and cards for themselves prior to the day, and arrange with individuals to deliver the gift. This is done to give work or school colleagues the false impression that that the person is loved, judging by the gifts which are usually accompanied by a bouquet of flowers. This gift is then displayed on their work station to give that particular person some sort of prestige.
But, people, especially men, have been observing this and have decided to assist their sisters by coming up with a special packages to ensure that the plot seems real.
On top of the list is Baba Tencen of the Kuripwa Kugara fame who is promising to spice things up for single ladies. The comedian, in a video that has gone viral on social networking site Facebook, says women can hire him for lunch, dinner, a public kiss or to have pictures taken on Valentine’s Day. He has named his treat, Baba Tencen’s Valentine’s special.
“Valentine’s Day is here, here is the man for hire. Single and independent ladies, I’m available for all your outings on the special day.
“If you want to go out with me for coffee, I’ll charge you $20 only. If you want to have lunch or hire me for a kiss in front of your friends – $45. For a shoulder to cry on and someone to listen to you – $70 to $80. To introduce me to your friends or family (even your mother) – just $100,” posted Baba Tencen.
The comedian who rose to fame after the release of a comic clip – Kuripwa Kugara concludes saying: “Don’t let Valentine’s Day pass you because you don’t have someone to move around with. People like me, Baba Tencen are available. To top it off, I’ll be smartly dressed. So what are you waiting for?”
Considering the restrictions on women’s freedoms for so long, Valentine’s Day on leap years is dedicated mainly to women. They are presented with the opportunity to treat men while in other countries being allowed to propose marriage.
Fortunately, 2016 is a leap year so those who will be lonely on the day may easily claim that they are planning something special for their loved ones.
