FC Platinum Under-19s beat Central League race leaders Whawha 1-0 at Mandava Stadium at the weekend. The young platinum miners got the all important goal in the first half to claim Whawha’s scalp and move to seventh place on the standings with 28 points from18 games. Jimiel Marecha, the Whawha secretary conceded defeat and said his side is going back to the drawing board and prepare for their next encounter against Chrome Stars.

The top-of-the table clash pitting Gweru City and Chrome Stars failed to take place after the latter turned up for the match without player licences much to the disappointment of a sizeable crowd which had turned up for the game.
