Kwaito and Gqom musician Xolani “Xosti” Tshongwe has collaborated with South African kwaito and house music singer Zanda Zakuza as well as Emza on a song titled Khanyisa.

The song, which was released last week, was produced by DJ Tira’s Afrotainment’s in-house producer Prince Bulo.

It is set to be part of Xosti’s upcoming album set to be released before the year ends.

The new track that has been distributed to almost all digital music stores is set to be officially launched on September 27 in Mzansi. A day after, a video shoot of the song will be done, where Mzansi’s most sought-after artistes and socialites are expected to grace the cinematography.

A crew from Selimathunzi Duku Duku, one of the most viewed SABC 1 programmes, is also expected at the shoot as they will capture behind-the-scenes events of the Khanyisa music video shoot for their show.

UK-based Xosti said Khanyisa is a song that speaks of the struggles he faced while growing up in Bulawayo. He said the song is a way of encouraging others that anything is possible in life no matter the situation and obstacles they face.

“While growing up, I faced a lot of struggles, but I always kept my head up high for I knew that God would reward me for putting effort in my hustle and dreams. The transformation of my life led me to write this song.

“I also took it upon myself to motivate and inspire other people who could be in a difficult situation to continue soldering on, for they’ll make it, as long as they put effort and believe in their dreams,” said Xosti.

Zanda Zakuza is not the first artiste to feature on Xosti’s project as he has worked with the likes of DJ Tira on Imali Ingenile, Rethabile Khumalo on Kanti Unjani, and the legendary Platform One’s Nani Ntengo on Incwadi. – @langamabena
