Young Lady Chevrons lose match Lady Chevrons

THE Zimbabwe women Under-19 cricket team is on the verge of being whitewashed by South Africa after they lost their fourth match of the preparatory series by eight wickets at Willowmoore Park B field, Benoni, South Africa yesterday.

Batting first in the fourth game of the five-match series, Zimbabwe were bowled out 97 in 20 overs and South Africa managed to chase it down in just over 10 overs with eight wickets to spare, finishing with 100-2 in 10. 5 overs.

Beloved Biza was the top scorer for the Young Lady Chevrons, finishing with 34 runs on the board followed by Vimbai Mutungwindu with 22 runs and Danielle Miekle was the third highest run scorer with 11 runs.

A clinical performance with the ball by Madison Landsman for South Africa saw her finishing with figures of 3/199 while Ayanda Hlubi finished with 2/7 to round up Zimbabwe’s innings.

Zimbabwe only managed to pick up two wickets as South Africa chased down the target easily. Kelis Ndhlovu took one wicket for 23 runs while Beloved Biza took the only other wicket to fall on the day, conceding 31 runs. Oluhle Sivo was the top scorer for South Africa, finishing on an unbeaten 34 runs.
