ZANU-PF has adopted a more digital approach at this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) where it is exhibiting in Hall Five.

The ruling party has opted for a new three-part format that emphasises economic empowerment and includes an SME section to promote entrepreneurial innovation.

Zanu-PF exhibition stand director, Cde Oliver Mandipaka, explained that the party’s promotion of President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 policy was being showcased using digital devices and innovations influenced by the Education 5.0 policy.

“Our exhibition this year is quite exciting in that it is in three parts, totally different from what we have been doing in the past. There is no clutter, there is no congestion, but an aura of fresh air. Our exhibition is more digital than ever,” he said.

Cde Mandipaka said over and above going digital, the party was emphasising on economic empowerment and has economic departments in the party, which are exhibiting, narrating and giving information on what the party is doing to ensure that the vision of the Zanu-PF First Secretary, President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 is achieved.

“We are properly guided. We also have our various wings as guided by the commissariat, such as our women’s league, war veterans’ league and youth league,” said Cde Mandipaka.

The third exhibition, Cde Mandipaka said, has the SMEs, which prove that the party had penetrated communities in a big way.

“There is a lot of innovation in our hall with the help of youngsters within the party to portray the Education 5.0 policy that the Government is pursuing, which is about innovation in a practical way. So, we are very excited as a ruling party to exhibit here,” said Cde Mandipaka.

Among organisations exhibiting in the Zanu-PF hall are the Citizens Against Economic Sanctions campaign, Zimbabwe Foundation for Education with Production (Zimfep), Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology, Miners4ED and Young Women4ED.

Zimfep was formed in 1981 to experiment with the concept of Education With Production (EWP) in eight farm-based pilot schools and later a vocational college.

The schools were located on large-scale farms ranging in size from 788 hectares to 6   000 ha.

Some of the Zimfep schools include Fatima High and George Silundika High in Matabeleland North, Jason Ziyaphapha Moyo High in Matabeleland South, Nkululeko Primary and High schools in Midlands, Rusununguko High in Mashonaland East and Chindunduma High in Mashonaland Central.
