The new album, which will have a different beat but the same Christian lyrics will renew the artiste’s relationship with his fans. The talented singer has been quiet for a long time and since the release of his hit album Kusaziva Kufa, he has not done any project.
This time he will use guitars in place of drums that he is synonymous with.

The six-track album entitled, Zvamakanga Musingationi, is set to take fans by storm and will be in the streets soon.
However, Chikuwa has severed ties with Record and Tape Promotions (RTP) since he is now involved in music production. The artiste-cum-producer now runs a recording studio.
To date he has done music production for Mutare-based Bright Stars and ZCC Chegutu Stars, all gospel outfits.

Born and bred in Bangwe village under chief Nyashanu, Chikuwa started singing when he was still in Grade Three before he moved to Mutendi High School where he improved his skills. The ZCC Mbungo Stars front man said he got his inspiration from Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi whom he said nurtured him like his biological father.
“I owe my success in music to Bishop Mutendi who noticed my talent and helped me expose it to the world. I am indebted to this man of God. There are many people with different artistic talents but many of them die

unnoticed. I got so much encouragement when I did my first project, Kusaziva Kufa from fellow church members and the Bishop, and never wanted to look back,” said Chikuwa.
Chikuwa admitted that he had gone quiet but was quick to say he was doing something behind the scenes.

“Of course I have not released any song for quite some time now but I have quite a number of songs that I have penned and I will release them. I was also pre-occupied with music production because I am also a producer.”

He said one of the songs on his album was Ichapera Chete Imba, a song dedicated to the completion of their multi-million dollar church built along Mutare road, about 35 kilometres from Masvingo city.
The church, which was officially opened by President Mugabe this year, has been identified as one of the country’s tourism attractions.

“I composed the song, Ichapera Chete Imba, when we were still building our church. Now we have finished building the temple, there is going to be another song in appreciation of God’s work and my fans deserve something good because they are very important in my life as an artiste,” he added.
