THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company yesterday met company representatives in Bulawayo to discuss ways of marketing their products and services ahead of the April international trade showcase. The 56th edition of the annual trade fair runs from April 21 to 25 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo.

ZITF Company manager Nomathemba Ndlovu said the training seminar was meant to give exhibitors insight on how to attract potential clients during the fair.

“The main aim of the training is to teach exhibitors on the technical aspects of how to exhibit their products and services. We want exhibitors to be able to exhibit in a manner that will get them returns at the end of the fair,” she said.

A total of 25 exhibitors attended the seminar.

“Most of the exhibitors we’re training are new. They need basic information on how we operate and how they should exhibit. Stand management, how to attract target audience and budgeting are some of the topics we teach to exhibitors,” added Ndlovu.

She said her organisation conducted a similar training seminar in Harare last Sunday.

More than 75 percent of exhibition space has already been booked at ZITF with indications of increased interest from international participants, mainly from Europe and Asia.

Countries like Germany, India, Malawi, Mozambique, Pakistan, Poland and South Africa have confirmed their participation.

The 2015 ZITF will be held under the theme “Stimulating Trade . . . Seizing Opportunities to Accelerate Growth”.

In line with the theme, this year’s trade fair is expected to offer a prime platform for networking and opportunities for economic growth.
