Monk became so fed up with louts urinating outside his home he began recording them in the act and posting the clips on YouTube in a bid to shame them.
The 46-year-old tree surgeon said late night drinking licences being introduced near his home have brought crowds of revellers to relieve themselves in the street.
Monk, who lives in the trendy Old Street area of Hoxton, said the idea came to him after the local councils of Islington and Hackney said that they don’t have the resources to deal with the problem.

In the clips, he can be heard confronting people who have stopped for a sneaky pee, shouting from behind the camera: “Go and do that outside your own house, it’s disgusting!”
In one video he even captures a woman crouching by the wheel of a car who runs away as soon as she is told: “You’re on YouTube!”

Mr Monk, who is known on YouTube as HoxtonHairdo, has seen his videos go viral on internet clip sites with surfers from all over the world getting behind his campaign.
Since posting the clips just three weeks ago, over 230 000 people have logged on to support the campaign.

Mr Monk said he has no problem with people having a good time near his home, but that those who can’t be bothered to walk to a toilet should be outed.
He said: “The many clubs and bars in Old Street attract a constant stream of drunken people that cannot be bothered to walk 50 yards to a urinal and prefer to urinate in the nearest side street.

“This goes on all night, all weekend and is a source of distress to the local residents, especially the elderly people who reside on the ground floor of the estate.
“This has been going on ever since the local councils, we border Islington and Hackney, decided to grant late night drinking licences to premises in the area.

“I have no objection to people enjoying themselves and publicans and club owners making a living but there is just not the infrastructure to support this kind of activity.”
YouTube users have lent their support to the campaign suggesting these types of camera should be set up all over London to clamp down on the “disgusting habit”.
One poster said: “Keep the videos coming; there should be cameras like this everywhere in London. It’s a disgusting thing to do and these people should be rightly outed to the public. They wouldn’t do it in daylight!”

A spokesman for Hackney Council said: “The Council is aware of this issue and continues to put out three portable urinals in the Hoxton Square area on Friday and Saturday evenings in order to tackle it.
“It is a criminal offence to urinate in a public place, and this anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.” – Daily Mail.
