SOUTH Africa’s multi-award winning rapper Cassper Nyovest is set to collaborate with Bulawayo hip hop artiste Cal_Vin for a remix of Cal_Vin’s Zikhuphani hit.

Cassper, who on Saturday scooped five Metro FM Music awards, approached Cal_Vin for a possible collaboration after having heard Zikhuphani playing on ZiFM. He fell in love with it and took to Twitter where he tweeted: “This Zikhupani joint by Calvin is my sh**.”

Cassper’s manager – Bash Vision – confirmed the developments saying Cassper appreciated Cal_Vin’s music and was interested in working with him.

“Cassper heard Zikhuphani and told me he liked it and would want to do a remix of it. I got in touch with Cal_Vin and we’re in the process of working on the logistics,” Bash said.

Cal_Vin, who was in Harare last week, broke the news of the possible collaboration on Saturday when he released the song’s video during an interview with ZiFM’s Gibson Ncube.

The Luveve-born rapper said he was at a loss for words after Cassper’s management had informed him of the collaboration.

“I can’t believe that Cassper wants to do something with me. When his manager Bash wrote me an email saying they want to work with me on Zikhuphani, I was speechless. This is a dream come true,” he said.

Cal_Vin said if all goes according to plan, he would just send an instrumental of Zikhuphani to Cassper.

“Cassper will record his verse for the track and send back the files for mastering. I’ll also do the same. They’re expecting the instrumental from me this week,” he said.

Cal_Vin said this collaboration would go a long way in boosting his career.

“This is an opportunity for me to break into the regional market. I see this collaboration opening a lot of doors for me, there’s no holding back and I’m hoping to do a music video for the remix as I did for the song,” he said.
