A BULAWAYO police officer wept in court demanding an extra $563 to the $100 granted to her in an earlier maintenance suit. Nomusa Mutandu said the $100 she got from her husband Gilbert Sikwabayila per month was no longer enough as they have another child.Mutandu was granted $100 maintenance in 2011 for the upkeep of their first child.

She told the court on Wednesday the couple has another child hence the need for money.
“He does not bring anything to the house. The only money I get from him is the $100 he was ordered to pay by the court in 2011” said Mutandu in tears.

She accused Sikwabayila of squandering R20,000  alone and neglecting his family.
Sikwabayila hit back: “I have already sent affidavit forms to this court requesting that the $100 I am paying be reduced as I no longer have the means to pay the money. I have sold the vehicle which used to get me money and she was the recipient of the money.”

Mutandu interjected and said her husband was not genuine.
Presiding magistrate Victor Mpofu quizzed Sikwabayila on how he impregnated his wife again yet claiming to have no money.

“I’m paying for everything. We stay together and sleep in the same bed but she denies me my conjugal rights,” Sikwabayila said.
Mpofu had a torrid time trying to calm both parties and at one moment he chucked them out the court room.

“If you want to cry get out of the court room and you will come back when you are ready. We want to assist those who need our help,” he blasted.
Mpofu ordered Sikwabayila to pay $150 for the two children.
