Credsure, DHL in strategic alliance

Credsure’s managing director, Mr Lovemore Madavo, said that the facility was launched due to the realisation that everyone has time constraints and that the current system of insuring and acquiring a vehicle licence is particularly arduous.

“We believe that the ‘Pick and Drop’ facility will eliminate the need for one to spend hours dealing with issues covering vehicle licence renewal.
“This new product will also add to Credsure’s product portfolio which includes motor and home combined insurance; domestic credit insurance; export credit insurance; bonds and guarantees and claims tracking,” he said.

Historically, one had to make a trip to his/her insurance company to acquire the insurance cover note, and then make another trip to the licencing authority to acquire a licence disc.
Recently the Government appointed Zimpost as the sole licencing authority to replace City of Harare.

The process as it stands can be cumbersome in that one needs to make trips to both the insurer and the post office, which can take hours if not the whole day. The “Pick and Drop” facility essentially eliminates this inconvenience. “A customer needing to renew his/her motor vehicle licence will be able to send their documents to Credsure using DHL. Two options exist for the client. You can either contact DHL to collect the documents from your home or office, or you can choose to drop off the documents at a Credsure office.

“Credsure will then issue a cover note and process the relevant insurance documents. Once all the documents have been  processed by Credsure and the vehicle licence is obtained from the relevant authorities, these documents will be returned to the client via DHL,” he said.
The facility will not only provide clients with convenience but will re-establish Credsure as a one-stop-shop for all short-term insurance products, said Mr Madavo.

“What we hope will be particularly appealing and of benefit to our clients is that the ‘Pick and Drop’ facility comes with no financial obligation to the client. All the costs are borne by Credsure.”
DHL Zimbabwe Ltd has an extensive nationwide branch network. DHL Zimbabwe’s commercial manager, Mr Stalin Tauya, said their branch network would make it possible for them to collect documents from many locations throughout the country.
“Our reputation and expertise as one of the premier document carrier with international ties accords us the opportunity to partner with Credsure so that their clients’ documents are delivered timeously. Our partnership with Credsure is designed to ensure that the client can take care of his/her core business while DHL takes care of the document deliveries.”-The Herald
