MOZAMBIQUE, Botswana, Malawi and hosts Zimbabwe will compete in the South Korea Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championships set for the University of Zimbabwe in Harare today.

A 28-member Bulawayo delegation left the city yesterday morning for the annual competition.

Ngqabutho Nhlabano, the Bulawayo Taekwondo provincial chairman, said they are ready for the championships.

“All the country’s 10 provinces are sending their teams. The countries use the event to identify talent as well as expose youngsters to regional competitions that are run in the same way as international tournaments,” said Nhlabano.

Other members of the senior team are Busani Moyo, Fortune Denhere, Blessing Sigeza, Keith Mombeshora, Simba Hozheri and Ovias Dzuruni.

Eighteen athletes will represent Bulawayo in the juniors’ age groups, from Under-6 to Under-18.
