RISING star Ammara Brown is happy to have achieved what her late father raised her to do and will always strive to keep his legacy alive.

Still young in the industry and with more than 15 singles to date, Ammara who is set to release her first album in October, serenaded Victoria Falls music lovers with a well-choreographed performance at Club Nitrus last week.

The queen of stage immediately declared her love for the resort town promising another show on her next national tour.

In an interview with Chronicle Showbiz after the show, Ammara, who says her fans should expect an “Ammartian experience” said her mission is not to fill her father’s shoes.

“He (Andy Brown) never raised me to fill his shoes, he raised me to create my own, which I have,” she said when asked whether she can grow to match her late dad.

Lead guitar specialist, Andy Brown died in March 2012 at the age of 50.

Ammara said she will always fuse his songs into hers at live shows to keep his legacy alive.

“I fused about four Andy Brown’s songs into my show. It’s important that they remember his legacy,” she said.

On Saturday she played Mawere Kongonya while she would occasionally add Andy Brown’s name into other songs’ lyrics.

She also played her latest single AKILIZ, Owami and others.

Ammara who was hosted by Breeze FM’’s midmorning show crew Crescencia Dube and Leslie Phiri said: “That was a fantastic crowd attendance considering we had to turn people away at the door. It was great to fill it to capacity at an opening show. I can say I had a fantastic time and it made me realise that Vic Falls can’t be left out of my next national tour. Great crowd.”

About her energetic performance on the stage, Ammara said: “I feel the music, unapologetically and I can promise them (fans) the ‘Ammartian experience’ and my debut album launch is on October 1st.”

She said she can’t wait to perform at the Jameson Victoria Falls Carnival this year.

“I feel it’s nice to share a stage with Mi Casa again. I haven’t seen them since we collaborated last year with Tehn. Also particularly nice that I’ll be getting to perform for the carnival crowd. They have a rather elite reputation,” she said. — @ncubeleon.
