PEOPLE who illegally occupied the Bulawayo City Council owned Mazwi Sanctuary two months   ago started moving out of the property yesterday following an order by Matabeleland North Provincial Minister Cde Cain Mathema for all  land invaders to vacate properties that they  occupied.
The Zanu-PF provincial secretary for lands Cde Partson Parirenyatwa who previously backed the land occupiers yesterday said the invaders had started moving out of the council property.

“Right now, I understand the guys are moving out,” he said.
Moses Munthali, general manager of City of Kings Business Ventures requested questions regarding the matter to be emailed to him, but had not responded by the time of going to print.

The leader of the Mazwi group, Tariro Magovanyika, declined to comment.
Magovanyika and his colleague, Mark Muunganirwa, are being charged for criminal trespass in relation to the occupation of the council farm.

On Monday, Cde Mathema said invaders should immediately vacate properties failing which they would be arrested.
He said the only designated person to distribute land was the Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement Cde Douglas Mombeshora.

Cde Mathema warned people against abusing Zanu-PF’s name when invading properties.
He also warned politicians against promising or distributing land to people with the hope of winning future votes.

Early this month, police descended on Denver Farm with the intention of removing illegal land occupiers but when they arrived at the property the invaders had already fled.
