MISS World Zimbabwe Emily Kachote will be dethroned and replaced by First Princess Anne-Grace Mutambu if nude images of her exist, Miss Zimbabwe Trust spokesperson Tendai Chirau has said.
It seems models have an affinity for nude pictures with this being the latest scandal to rock the industry.
Yesterday Zimbabwe woke up to the news that there were nude pictures of Kachote in circulation on social media after they were leaked on a WhatsApp group Boyz Dzetonaz barely a week after she was crowned at Mermaid Pools in Shamva.
With this year’s pageant theme being Probity, which means integrity, honesty and truthfulness, Kachote might set a new record for the shortest reign as Miss World Zimbabwe if remarks by Chirau are anything to go by.
Chirau said the Miss Zimbabwe Trust would dethrone Kachote if they find out that the pictures exist but are yet to make a decision as they were yet to sit and discuss the issue with her.
“We’re yet to engage her and the people involved in this whole issue and we’re still investigating. When we sit down with Emily to get her side of the story and if our investigations find that this is true then we’ve no option but to dethrone her and replace her with the first princess Anne-Grace,” said Chirau.
He said during scouting and boot camp, aspiring models were told to declare if they had posed nude in the past in accordance with Miss World standards.
“From the scouting stage we told models not to enter if they’ve taken nude pictures and told them to go home. They all signed documents declaring that they’ve never posed nude whether on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp,” said Chirau.
“We’re being guided by the rules and statutes of Miss World on the issue of nude pictures.”
Boyz Dzetonaz is said to be made up of Harare dealers with one of them claimed to be behind the “leaking” of nude pictures of former Miss Zimbabwe Thabiso Phiri last year.
She later resigned for personal reasons.
It’s claimed that Kachote was dating two of the members of the group and in a bid to prove their claims, one shared several nude pictures of her on the group. By yesterday morning the man had pulled down his Facebook account.
The pictures were seen by H-Metro and when contacted on Friday, according to the publication, Kachote confirmed that they were indeed hers but were taken a while ago during a house party while she was drunk.
Kachote has been in the eye of a storm from the day she was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe, with social media going into overdrive labelling her ugly and unsuitable to represent the country.
Some former title holders of Miss Zimbabwe came to her defence declaring her the best choice to represent the country.
