SOLDIERS should embrace information technology and research in order to improve health delivery in military institutions and the whole country, a senior Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) official has said.

Speaking at a graduation of 137 medical graduates from the ZNA, Airforce of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Republic Police and Zimbabwe Prison Services, ZNA Chief of Staff (Administration) Major General Douglas Nyikayaramba urged security forces to advance their medical knowledge through research.

The graduation was held at Imbizo Barracks on the outskirts of Bulawayo last Wednesday.

“Let me remind you that the medical field is dynamic. You should continue to research more in your various medical professions to keep abreast with current trends,” said Major General Nyikayaramba.

“You are privileged to have access to the internet. It is only through research that you can continuously improve health delivery systems in your various organisations and the country at large.”

He commended the graduates for their hard work and determination in the face of limited resources in medical schools caused by illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by Western countries.

Major General Nyikayaramba also called on the nation to work together in order to counter the illegal sanctions and to support economic recovery strategies put in place by the Government.

“The Government has come up with strategies such as Command Agriculture and Statutory Instrument 64 and for these to work, there is need for our collective resolve as a nation to remain dedicated, hardworking and loyal,” he said.

Major General Nyikayaramba advised the graduands to condemn and shun corruption to enhance Government efforts towards economic prosperity.

He said the graduates should develop the skills they acquired and put them to good use in order to help their organisations and the nation at large. — @PrinceNkosy102
