FANS of SA-based kwaito group, Stiff, will have to wait a little longer to listen to the trio’s debut album which will only be released in February next year.

After having teased local followers last year during the annual Kalawa Homecoming gig, the group that is fronted by a Zimbabwean – Diliza – promised to release an album in June this year, but had to shelve those plans as they wanted to add more tracks to make it a masterpiece. They then hoped to release it this month during the Kalawa Homecoming gig, but have since postponed the release again.

“The long awaited album release for the group Stiff, comprising Diliza, Nhlanhla and Sbu was put on hold by the management because they wanted to add more songs. Management has decided to release the album next year in February,” said Kalawa Jazmee spokesperson Arthur “Scotch” Mathenga.

The single Umcimbi which made Stiff popular last year has more than 220 000 views on YouTube with singles such as Awe Ma and Juluk’i Roof that will be included on the new album already playing popular showing that the debut album will likely be a scorcher.

Scotch said the album produced by Professor’s new Proper Files record label with the help of Kalawa Jazmee producers would be worth the wait.

“The title of the album will be Juluk’iRoof with tracks to look out for including Awe Ma, Juluk’iRoof and Uyaphika among many others.

“The long wait will soon be over and fans will realise that it was all worth it as we’ve gone all out with the production of this project,” he said.

He said the trio was looking forward to performing in Bulawayo at the Kalawa Homecoming party on December 27 where they will share the stage with other SA acts, Professor, Oskido, Mpumi, Nokwazi, DJ Sox Bhizer, DJ Fresh, AB Crazy, Dj Lyquid and Character.
