Former Big Brother Africa (BBA) Housemate, Vimbai Mutinhiri is under attack for publicly stating that she is voting for Nigerian Housemate, Tayo and Tanzania’s Idris at the expense of her countryman, JJ who is also up for possible eviction from the House this week.Vimbai who is now based in Nigeria had first tweeted asking her followers who the nominated Housemates were before posting: “Idris and Tayooooooo!!!!!!,” I’ve already started voting”, making followers believe she was not supporting JJ.

The feed on Twitter yesterday seemed to have rubbed others the wrong way as some did not mince their words and labelled the StarGist host a traitor.

@dubefoster tweeted: “Miss Vimbai I see you are now Nigerian, forgetting your own rep,” while “TSanyanga tweeted: “Miss Vimbai  ..damn traitor.”

Though Vimbai could genuinely be supporting the two foreign Housemates because she bonded well with them during her stay in the House last week, most people clearly did not decode her message that way. Some responded to her feed asking: “and JJ?”

Feeds by former Housemates on Twitter or Facebook urging people to support or vote for particular characters have over the years been taken seriously by BBA followers. Though one can make their own decision, research has proved that voters are guided by Facebook fan pages and other groups on social networks when it comes to voting matters.

Vimbai’s short stint in the Big Brother Hotshots House last week seems to have caused her all manner of problems as she has created more enemies than fans back home. When she pulled a prank on Butterphly accusing her of being an alcoholic, it did not go down well with many Zimbabweans who felt she had degraded Butterphly. Now, she is being accused of being unpatriotic, forgetting her roots as she wants to please viewers of her show in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Butterphly who had a rather rough experience last week with Vimbai spitting venom on her, has all the reasons to smile this week as she has sailed through to the Big Brother Africa (BBA) Hotshots finale — drawing herself closer to winning the prize money.

The two-month long reality show ends next week on Sunday with one housemate from the remaining 12 expected to walk away with the $300,000 cash prize. But from the 12, only four including Butterphly have secured spots for the finale as the rest are up for possible eviction from the House this week.

JJ, Tayo, Sheillah, Goitse, Sipe, Trezagah, Ellah and Idris are up for possibly eviction.

Butterphly joins Nhlanhla, Macky2 and Ma’am Bea on the road to the finals as she has only been up for eviction, albeit unknowingly, once since she entered the house.

Despite Butterphly being a bore in the House, the country’s two representatives have generally performed well, working well together compared to previous paired Housemates. If JJ survives eviction, the two will have set a record of being the first two Zimbabweans to make it through to the BBA finale together.
