THE Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) Bulawayo province is set to hold district elections today as part of its restructuring exercise.

The elections would be held in the province’s 10 district starting from 8AM and polling is expected to end at 4PM.

The positions being contested are for the district chairperson and his/her deputy, secretaries and committee members.

Bulawayo war veterans provincial Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Japhet Ncube said the district elections would further strengthen the association.

Cde Ncube urged members to participate in today’s elections.

“Since the ZNLWVA will be re-constituting the district structures in the whole province we expect all registered war veterans’ association members to participate in these elections. It is their opportunity to elect their leadership at district level,” said Cde Ncube.

He said the elected leadership is supposed to spearhead developmental programmes and champion issues to do with the welfare of the association’s members.

The war veterans elections would be held at Zanu-PF’s Davies Hall; the war veterans’ provincial offices at Entumbane suburb; at ZNLWVA offices behind Chigumira shops in Luveve as well as at Maplanka shops.

Polling will also take place in Old Pumula at the car park, at the association offices in Mpopoma and Nkulumane as well as at Zanu-PF Tshabalala suburb sub office and at their Nketa 6 stand.

In Cowdray Park voting would be held at Emabhasikilini.
