EVERYTHING is in place for seasoned artiste, Jeys Marabini’s much-anticipated 10th album launch this Saturday at the home of arts, the Bulawayo Theatre.

Jeys said he is geared up for the launch whose tickets are selling like hotcakes.

“Tickets are selling in a pleasing way and I’m ready for this show as I believe this is going to be one of the biggest shows that I’ll host. I’d like to call upon my fans who haven’t purchased tickets to do so and come and have a live feel of the Xola album.

“The album will be presented in a very unique way that’s never been seen before in Bulawayo.”
He said he has already started working on visuals for the tracks as a way of fully expressing the messages encompassed in the songs.

“So far, we’ve recorded two videos for tracks, Xola and Skin Colour that features Tariro NeGitare. This is a move that I’m taking as I seek to grow my fan base. For the visuals, I worked with Stanley Media and MME Productions,” said Jeys.

Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the album launch last month, Tariro NeGitare said she was grateful to God for according to her, the rare opportunity to collaborate with jazz muso.

“Jeys says there was a time when he saw the gates of heaven (when he was ill) as he was critical. I thank God for giving him a chance to live, at the same time, according to me, an opportunity to collaborate with a legend. If it wasn’t for the second chance to live, I wouldn’t have gotten this opportunity,” Tari neGitare said.

She said their song is one to look out for.

“Our song is nice. It’s different and it’ll be unpacked on the 26th.”

Future Dube, who oversaw the production of Jeys Marabini’s forthcoming album said the production is meant to highlight the importance of unity.

“This album shines the spotlight on the importance of creatives coming together, especially in times of need. Many artistes visited Jeys at his worst, which helped us push the album smoothly since we knew that we had backing from local artistes,” Dube said. – @mthabisi_mthire
