THE organisers of the debut All-Female Artists Awards Zimbabwe (Afaaz), scheduled to take place in Harare this weekend, have reported that preparations are progressing smoothly. They have also reached out to businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo, seeking his support.

The generous benefactor has recently made headlines by generously donating vehicles worth millions of dollars to artists.

Sarah Dhliwayo, also known as Sarah Dee, the founder of Afaaz, is at the forefront of this pioneering event, set to celebrate female artists on the 27th of March at Casino Marina, Longchen Plaza.

The awards, orchestrated by Sarah Dee Creations Africa, are designed to highlight the significant contributions of women in the arts and creative industries.

In pursuit of backing for the awards, Sarah Dee is diligently pursuing discussions with prospective sponsors.

“Preparations are going so well what comes out is what will have come out of the whole scenario. People must not ignore supporting female artiste as with what they do with male artistes they must do also with female artistes.

“We would like to reach out to Sir Wicknell as he has inspired me and showcased love to other people even if you not related to them. You are not the first person to have money but you have taught those who had before you that you can share and not be stopped by what people say. Afaaz wants a hand of support by purchasing the tickets and sponsoring some awards,” said Sarah Dee.
