BULAWAYO hip hop dance crew Antivirus have ventured into fashion, saying it was long overdue as they have been trendsetters in the local fashion industry for a long time.
In an interview, the award-winning group said they were working on the launch of their clothing label, AV, scheduled for April 26 at Horizon Pub & Grill.

Victor Madzura, who is part of the crew, said the clothes were tailor-made by the group.
“We have been setting fashion trends in the city through our dressing. We are just continuing that trend with tailor making the clothes for the public,” he said.

Madzura said they would launch their designer T-shirts and shorts only for now and jeans and tracksuits later.
“The prices and where people can purchase the T-shirts and shorts will be revealed on the day of the launch. What I can assure people is that they will be affordable,” he said.

Madzura said they would also hold a listening session for their nine-track mixtape album titled Leather and Gold.
“The listening session is for people to listen and tell us which songs they like and dislike. This is for Antivirus to get direction as to what we are doing correct and where we are missing it.

“We are a diverse group because when the group was initially formed, we were singers. We have two videos including the Pokello Dance which is doing very well on YouTube,” he said.

Madzura said the crew would go on a tour of Southern Africa to promote their music and fashion label.
“We are set to go on a Leather and Gold Tour to promote our music so that we widen our fan base,” he said.

Two years ago, Antivirus, which is comprised of Ricco Andrews, Madzura and Prince Dube, won the best dance crew at the Zim Hip hop awards.
