BULAWAYO’S CK Film Productions will premiere a Christian movie — Impilo — at the Bulawayo Rainbow Cinemas City 1 tomorrow at 5.30PM.

The movie, a fusion of fantasy, romance and sorrow had some of its scenes shot at Old Pumula suburb. With a cast of 15 actors, Impilo vividly explores the story of a young faithful Christian who is in love with a beautiful young lady. The woman is however not happy in the relationship.

Misheck Mavhera, director of the movie said the film depicts what happens in society.

“There’re disheartening things that happen in our lives and this movie teaches people that even though the going may seem to be getting tough, they shouldn’t turn against God. We should’ve faith in everything that we do,” Mavhera said.

The lead actor, Brian, is a prayer warrior who loses his well paying job. His mother dies and this leads his girl Habibo to cheat on him, resulting in their separation.

He continues praying and enters into another relationship which lasts for a few weeks as he is deserted because the girl’s family condemns their relationship because he is of a different ethnic origin.

He ends up losing hope in God, turning to alcohol and becomes a drunkard. Inspired by renowned Hollywood director and actor Tyler Perry, Mavhera, who together with Misheck Mavhera, Nkosikhona Ncube and Mthandazo Ngwenya produced Forgiven, is confident their production will give the local film industry a facelift.
