NDUX Junior has taken a giant step of writing to companies asking for financial support to help him cover production costs of his 11th studio album set for release next month.

Junior, who is the son of the late rhumba legend Ndux Malax, said he could not go it alone for his forthcoming album titled Bambelela due to the Covid-19 pandemic that crippled operations.

“We’ve sent letters inviting companies to chip in with donations because due to Covid-19, we’re hamstrung for resources. We haven’t done much since last year,” said the uThando Luyingizo hitmaker.

Junior said he is waiting for responses after sending letters to companies and organisations that include the Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association.

Giving a brief of the album, the musician said he featured house/kwasa artiste Abigail Mabuza on a love track.

“We also have a Kalanga track titled Ndabhayiwa which will be purely traditional with the use of traditional drums and other traditional instruments like whoso as a way of reviving traditional dance. Rhumba fans should expect fireworks as always,” he said.

Junior said the album is set to be launched in South Africa since that country has lifted restrictions on music shows.

Those who will not be able to attend, Junior said should not worry as they are making arrangements to broadcast the launch live on digital platforms.

The artiste, who broke into the music scene in 2004, has been keeping his father’s legacy alive by churning out many hits. Some of his albums include La Esiyakhona, Akuvumi Ngithule, Uthando Luyingozi, Fak’imali uzabona, Sekumnandi La and Sigida Ndawonye among others. — @themkhust
