The Naph inter-provincial finals will be held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare at the end of this month.
Matabeleland South is made of Bulilima, Mangwe, Insiza, Gwanda, Beitbridge, Umzingwane and Matobo districts.
Mangwe District scooped first position in 2011 at Phakamani Primary School in Plumtree and the chairperson of Naph in the district, Rueben Zinyemba is confident that they will retain the top prize once again.

“We are ready for the competition and are quite confident that the boys will do well as we prepared thoroughly,” said Zinyemba.
He said their coaching staff of Khumbulani Ncube and Bekithemba Ncube left no stone unturned in their preparations.

“We have talented boys like Prince Dube of Tjingababili Primary School, Gift Ndlovu of Allan Redfern and Mthusi Ndlovu from Ngwanyana. To cap it all we also have Bokani Hadzisa from Allan Redfern Primary School who took gold at national finals in the Under-12s last year,” said Zinyemba.

The races include, short sprints like 80 and 100 metres, hurdles and the always exciting 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays.

Besides the track events there will also be field events like long, triple and high jumps, shot putt and throws.
Matabeleland South counterparts Bulawayo held their provincials last week at the National University of Science and Technology.
