Mzansi and indeed the entire world was rocked by the sad passing of struggle icon Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in the early hours of Monday afternoon.
As testament to her contribution to South Africa and the world, the pain of her passing was also felt by even those beyond Mzansi borders.

International celebrities such as Viola Davies, Jennifer Hudson, Danny Glover and Idris Elba to name but a few have all shared their fondest memories of the Mother of the Nation.

Academy award winning actress Viola Davies described her as an epitome of “how the power of a woman’s love, intelligence and vision can change a culture.”
Jennifer Hudson also expressed herself on the passing of Mama Winnie saying that the fight she fought will never be forgotten. Hudson played the role of Mama Winnie in the film Winnie Mandela.

Veteran actor, Danny Glover, described Mama Winnie as an “amazing woman, who dealt with many struggles and remained a champion of peace, equality and justice for the people of South Africa.”

Idris Elba who portrayed the role of Madiba in the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, said: “My heart is heavy right now. You lived a full and important life contributing to the liberation of a nation by force and actual activism. You will never be forgotten.” – DailySun
