ZIMBABWE’s Young Mighty Warriors will be fighting for a silver medal this morning when they take on Botswana at Luveve Stadium.

It’s a swim or sink situation for the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Under 20 Youth Games hosts.

The gold destination was confirmed on Wednesday when Botswana and Namibia drew 1-1, literally handing the top spot to the South Africans unless Zimbabwe pummel their opponents Botswana today with an incredible 12 goals without reply and pray that South Africa lose to Namibia by whatever scoreline.

South Africa are on six points with a game against Namibia today.

They enjoy a massive goal difference of +7 after they thumped Botswana 3-1 before walloping Young Mighty Warriors 5-0.

The Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda-mentored Young Mighty Warriors are on position two with three points and with a -4 goal difference.

Sibanda’s charges now need an all out win over Botswana to be certain of at least a silver medal.

Female Zebras coach Sepheko Motlhagoti hopes his charges will build on their Wednesday match when they take on the Young Mighty Warriors.

“Our draw against Namibia was a big experience for our girls. We’re looking forward to build on that draw when we take on Zimbabwe. I’m happy we’ve played a competitive match after being in camp for the past three weeks. We played well against Namibia and we hope we’re going to continue from where we left,” said Motlhagoti.
