BULAWAYO-born and Joburg-based rapper, Lil Mars Shex (real name Marshall Ncube) is over the moon as he will be part of the maiden Show4me Independent Music Awards slated for next year.

Show4me Independent Music Awards is a music contest organised by Show4me to support independent musicians. It gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their potential to the global audience, increase their fan base and obtain professional advice from industry experts.

The awards will be held virtually from the UK/Germany and The Grand final will be on 15 July 2022.

After applying, the rapper made the grade and has bettered his chances at a shot at musical greatness and popularity.

Speaking from his Joburg base, Lil Mars Shex expressed excitement and shared his plans.

“My aim is to be considered among the nominees and obviously among the winners. This would be my first award and the fact that Show4me is international makes it even more worthwhile as this will give me a chance to be recognised worldwide.

“The goal is winning and if I do so, I’d like to make my fans back home happy. Imagine me coming back home with an award from the UK. Also, the more people join my Show4me artist Club and play my music, this enhances the chances for me to win.”

The contest is open to all music genres and styles and the six-man jury will consist of the best in the music business including Founder and CEO at Show4me, Karen Chiftalaryan, CEO at Show4me Deutschland, Germany, Joscha Huedepohl, Director at Big Help Music record label, UK, Dutch Van Spall, Live music industry expert, Germany, Daniel Daum, Founder & Chairman of Dien Quan Group, Vietnam, Color Man and a secret juror to be unveiled soon.

Winners at the awards will pocket different prize monies as well as statures. The grand winner will pocket US$5 000, the Grand Prize winner’s certificate, Booking opportunities for one-year, Personal Show4me manager for one year, Show4me merch pack.

The second prize will include US$4 000, the Second Prize winner’s certificate, Personal Show4me manager for one year, Show4me merch pack.

The third prize winner will get US$1 000, the Third Prize winner’s certificate, Personal Show4me manager for one year, Show4me merch pack.

Complementary to that will be the People’s Choice Prize Statue which will be accompanied by the People’s Choice Prize winner’s certificate, Personal Show4me manager for one year, Show4me merch pack.

There will also be a Show4me Team Prize Statue which will have the Show4me Team Prize winner’s certificate, Personal Show4me manager for one year, Show4me merch pack.

Winners will be chosen from different genres which include rock, pop, folk, country, classic, latin, metal, punk, hip-hop, R&B, indie, alternative and electronic music. _ @eMKlass_49
