Lock Brothers win doubles event in Venezuela Lock Brothers at Dracula Open

ZIMBABWE tennis siblings, Benjamin and Courtney Lock were recently crowned doubles champions at the Dracula Open in Venezuela after coming from a set down to win the final.

The siblings won against a Venezuelan pair of Rafa Adbul and Diego to bring home the trophy.
Benjamin and Courtney lost the first set 4-6 and managed to redeem themselves to win the following two, 6-2 and 11-9 to be crowned the best duo of the tournament. The win came after the pair previously finished second at the Ambato Challenger in Chile.

Speaking to the media after the final, the Zimbabwean brothers said they were happy for the victory since it was a great season for them. They also added that they are very grateful to the Venezuelan public for all the support and affection they have given them throughout the duration of the tournament.

In the same way, they expressed that Venezuelan tennis is growing a lot and there is a lot of talent in the country, they thanked the entire Dracula Open organisation for such an excellent event and they hope to return to the country soon.

The Zimbabwean siblings have had a busy schedule where they featured in different challenger tours across the globe before going on to win in Venezuela.

Lock brothers

In the singles event, the Zimbabweans were eliminated in the quarter finals. Courtney Lock lost against Sinopoli Francisco from Venezuela 6-3 and 6-3. Benjamin was eliminated by Ciro Gabriel from Brazil after winning the first set 4-6 and going on to lose the final two, 6-2 and 10-6 to crash out of the singles.
