Gospel songstress Mai Mwamuka’s Facebook page with over 31 000 followers has been hacked.

The account, Mai Margeret Mwamuka, had been publishing shady things on Facebook stories for the last two weeks, raising questions.

In one of the stories which showed half-naked women, viewers were instructed to swipe up, making them vulnerable to hacking.

In an interview, the gospel musician confirmed that her account was hacked in July saying she had no access to it.

“On a sad note, my original Facebook page Mai Margaret Mwamuka nee Kaliyati with 32000 followers was hacked and taken over in July. I’ve been hoping to recover it, but no luck as yet. I realised late that I was hacked, that’s why I have failed to recover it.

“Unfortunately, whoever has access to it started to post indecent images. It had a lot of followers, but I just have to let it go because I’ve no access to it,” said Mwamuka.

She apologised to followers for being exposed to indecent content.

“I’d like to apologise to all my followers, it’s not me who’s been posting although the page still has my name.  I opened a new page recently called Mai Mwamuka-PEARL Music, let’s support it,” she said.

Hackers seem to be on the prowl as recently, Andrea the Vocalist’s manager announced that there was an impostor, a Nigerian only identified as Egoh Noble, who has of late been masquerading as Andrea The Vocalist on Facebook, posting updates stolen from Andrea The Vocalist’s official page. – @SeehYvonne
