CONTROVERSIAL kwaito/hip-hop artiste Lwazi Skuza aka Mcheznana got his friends and family worried at the weekend when he raised alarm over fear of his life on his Facebook page. The 25-year-old musician is alleged to have severed ties with his mysterious girlfriend in the past days which did not go well with her leading to her issuing threats over his life.

On Saturday, Mcheznana wrote on his page:  “If I die, know that I was killed, if I’m arrested know that I was framed. Things are not well keep me in your prayers, she is capable of anything. Father, Father let thy cup pass me, but if it’s your will let it be done,” he wrote.

Concerned friends and relatives responded by questioning what had gone wrong, with some sympathising with him assuring him that he must fear not.

Later on, on the same day, he wrote: “Why me only, Lord show me the way”.
On February 3, Mcheznana wrote, “Don’t women understand when a man says it’s over? Pissed off. Nxxxxxxxxxxxx.”

Contacted for comment yesterday, Mcheznana refused to shed more light on the issue.
“Yes I wrote it, but it is personal let us leave it alone.

Mcheznana is nephew to one of the best talents to emerge from Matabeleland, Solomon Skuza. His first album a 10-track album, titled Off Topic, was released in 2008 and featured hit track Yokozuna, which topped the charts for three months.

In 2010, he released, Premier League and six tracks among them One Zimbabwe, which became an anthem in Bulawayo, but did not receive any airplay on radio stations, as it was perceived as a tribal song.

But despite controversies, the promising young artiste has managed to live up to his calling and continued sharpening his music skills and created a name among the region’s music greats.
