Bazobuya hit-makers, the Soul Brothers from South Africa are set to return to Bulawayo for a performance at the White City Stadium next month.

The traditional music group, which last performed in the city last year is billed to perform at the Ziyakhala Music Show Festival alongside Swaziland’s Shongwe & Khuphuka Saved Group, South Africa’s Lindokuhle Mkhize and locals Madlela Skhobokhobo, Zinjaziyamluma, La Dee, PNC, Mandla Dube, and Mpilo Ndlovu.

The festival, which will have Ezra Tshisa Sibanda as its MC, is being organised by Mthente Projects for November 25.

Mthente Projects director, Mandla Dube said the event aims to bring people together to enjoy a diverse range of musical genres and promote unity among Africans. He said the festival will feature a mix of gospel, mbaqanga, rhumba, maskandi, and hip-hop music, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

“The show is all about people coming together to have fun while experiencing their favourite artistes perform.

“That’s why we mixed the genres of artistes as we want to remind people that Africa is one nation,” said Dube.

He said this will be Shongwe & Khuphuka Saved Group’s first time to perform in the country.

“Shongwe & Khuphuka have never been to Bulawayo before. Shongwe asked us to invite different churches to come and support this event and on Sunday.  He will visit those churches to bless them with a few songs.

“We’re calling this event the ‘Bulawayo shutdown’ as its one not to be missed as we’re approaching the festive season,” Dube said. —@TashaMutsiba
