THE Southern region Sports Writers Association of Zimbabwe (Swaz) on Wednesday evening chose a five member normalisation committee that would map the way towards the association’s general elections that are scheduled for March 22.

The normalisation committee is made up of Muziwethu Hadebe, Thandazani Zimbwa, Lovemore Dube, Ngqwele Dube and Sakheleni Nxumalo.

The committee was selected to revive the institution that has been on hiatus since 2011 following the election of the Mehluli Sibanda led committee.

Other members of the committee included Ricky Zililo (vice chairman), Muziwethu Hadebe (treasurer), Sibongumusa Dlodlo (secretary general) and Sukoluhle Mthethwa (committee member).

Wednesday’s meeting was attended by scribes from local print and electronic media houses.

The normalisation committee’s major task is to organise for an elective meeting where a substantive committee will be elected to run the association for three years.

The committee was also tasked with re-engaging  the organisation’s previous partners so as to bring it back to its glory days.

It was agreed during the meeting that members will pay monthly subscriptions of $5 each with non-paid up members not eligible to cast their votes in March.
