VILLAGERS stumbled on two dead women in separate incidents in Nyamandlovu last Tuesday. Sibangilizwe Ncube, 39, of Hildah’s Kraal, under Chief Deli, left home last Saturday to an unknown destination and was found dead, seated against a tree with a bottle of mahewu beside her.

The decomposing body of Theressia Ndabambi, 52, of Mvundlana line under Chief Magama in Tsholotsho was also found at Muntu grazing area in Nyamandlovu.

Ncube’s nephew, Gordon Ncube, said his aunt had been hallucinating for some days before her disappearance.
“The whole of last week she had complained of seeing things and was running around like a disturbed person. On the day of her disappearance, she left me at home and didn’t come back. When she didn’t return the following day, I made a report to the police,” he said.

On Tuesday, James Nyoni, a security guard at Hildah’s Farm which is some kilometres away from Ncube’s home, discovered the body under a tree.

Nyoni said Ncube was in a sitting position under a tree about 200 metres from their homestead.
“When I first saw the body, I thought she was sheltering from the rain. On realising that she had been there for a while even after it stopped raining, I drew closer and noticed she was dead. Next to her was a bottle of mahewu,” said Nyoni.

Meanwhile, a close source said Ndabambi was last seen at Nqoya growth point in Tsholotsho on Monday.
“We last saw her at the growth point where there was drought relief food distribution. We were with her during that period but she later disappeared and didn’t return home.”

A villager, Rabson Tshuma of Stand 16, Muntu Village, in Nyamandlovu, discovered the body which was in an advanced state of decomposition in the bush on Tuesday.

“I stumbled on the decomposing body while I was looking for mushrooms in the bush,” said Tshuma.
Both cases were reported to police who took both bodies to the United Bulawayo Hospitals for post mortem.
