IT’S a weekend and what better way to meet up with family and friends than a get-together with fresh drinks and barbecue?

Barbecue meat always goes down well with a glass of alcohol.

And mind you, this is one of the best times to loosen up the tongue and just be you. Who can blame you?

So if you have been following this column, I penned a piece on Smokehouse and their cocktails I termed the horsemen.

Competitively, lots of bars, establishments that offer liquor have come up with new and exciting cocktails. Well, apart from the bars suppliers and distillers too have begun producing cocktails of choice.

Anyway here’s a sure get-together recipe for the winter holidays.

The Whitestone 4 in 1 party Bonanza.

This is a mix from the Chef:

Pour two tots each of the Whitestone Gin flavours, 500ml peach cordial, 100ml raspberry cordial and 100ml Cream Soda cordial. Thereafter blend and pour in a glass of your choice.

The second option can be mix 500ml lemonade, 300ml soda water, fruits — strawberries cut in half lengthwise blueberries, pineapples cut in cubes, watermelon cubed, cucumbers sliced into rings, grapefruit sliced, add some ice, bitters and place in a 2-litre jar.

If you want to add some zazz to the get-together why not try and mix the two recipes?

“Pour the peach cordial in the jar, throw in some blueberries, add ice to almost halfway, pour the strawberry Gin and the classic, 250ml of lemonade and some strawberries. Create a red layer by gently pouring the raspberry cordial. Keep adding fruit as you add some ice.

“Then add the pineapple Gin and some pineapple slices, gently pour the remaining lemonade and add more fruit,” said the Liquid Chef.

He added: “Top up with soda water then on one side splash the cream soda cordial and on the other the blackcurrant Gin enhance the blue by dipping a tooth in a blue food colouring and gently dipping it where you poured the blackcurrant Gin. Sprinkle some bitters on the top and stir before you serve.”

This serves about 6 to 8 people.

Till next week, have a blissful and tipsy weekend.
