LOCAL dancehall DJs Judgement Yard are set to embark on an international tour as they seek to expand their brand globally.

Their tour will take them first to to Gaborone and Francistown, Botswana this weekend. Next weekend  it’s Cape Town, South Africa. Next month they will be  Luton and Wolverhampton, United Kingdom and in November they travel to Perth, Australia ().

DJ Flevah said they wanted to mainstream their brand during the tour adding that they were fully booked until the end of the year with local, regional and overseas shows.

“Our ultimate outlook with this talent that we have is to be known internationally. It’s also a time for us to learn the ropes. We’re known in the country, so it’s high time we look at getting more gigs outside the country,” said Flevah.

He attributed their popularity internationally to local commercial radio station ZiFM.

“The demand for Judgement Yard is very high due largely to ZiFM who have been instrumental in marketing us. Internationally there are people who listen to our broadcasts through online through live streaming,” said Flevah.

He said although most of the places had a strong Zimbabwe population, they wanted to make the host country’s appreciate dancehall.

“Although we’re performing for Zimbabweans there, there are others who like dancehall. Hopefully they’ll enjoy how we do things and book us more and more so that we get to penetrate the international market,” said Flevah.
