Bosso, DeMbare face bogey sides

Bosso who displaced DeMbare at the top of the log on Wednesday following their 1-0 win at the Colliery Stadium against Hwange take on wounded Monomotapa at Rufaro Stadium while Dynamos, smarting from a 1-0 defeat against Chicken Inn are at home to Shabanie Mine tomorrow.

In a telephone interview from Harare yesterday, Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu said they were expecting a tough game but were ready to take on Monomotapa.

“I think this is going to be a tough game and what makes it even more difficult for us is that they (Monomotapa) lost to a team that they thought they would beat and they will come to this game seeking to make amends. However we have prepared hard for the game and everyone is ready for a positive result.

“We are going to fight hard just as we have done in previous games,” said Kaindu.
Monomotapa lost 2-3 to Quelaton on Wednesday.

Bosso’s Zambian expatriate is banking on history as they have given superb performances whenever they are on the road.

The Bulawayo giants will be hoping to complete a double over Monomotapa whom they beat 3-0 in the first leg that was played at Barbourfields Stadium in May. Highlanders got their goals from Milton

Ncube, Peter “Rio” Moyo and Graham Ncube.
Milton and Moyo are part of the Highlanders team that will do duty this afternoon while Graham is recovering from an injury and has missed two games against Shabanie Mine and Hwange.

Other players expected to carry the day for Highlanders include player of the moment Masimba Mambare, dependable defenders Eric Mudzingwa and Innocent Mapuranga, national team goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda and Mthulisi Maphosa.

Players to watch in Monomotapa’s camp include Ronald Chitiyo, Makai Kawashu, Fidelis Mangezi, Kuda Musharu and Tendai Ngulube.

In the only match set for Bulawayo, at Luveve Stadium tomorrow, Quelaton have warned Caps United that they will not go down without a fight.

After seeing his charges dispatch Monomotapa, Quelaton gaffer Farai Sibanda said they were ready for the Green Machine that is also enjoying a good spell under Taurai Mangwiro and Mkhuphali Masuku.

“The morale in our camp is obviously high following our midweek result. I have always said that we have a good squad but unfortunately results have not been coming our way. We are prepared for Caps United and I must say the win against Monomotapa was not a fluke.

“We hope to collect maximum points against Caps United and if they think they will have it easy, then they have to think again because they will bite the dust,” said Sibanda.

Quelaton will pin their hopes on midweek scorers Innocent Kutsanzira, Simba Manwere and Timothy January. They also have Mhleli Sibanda, Zibusiso Sibanda, Eddy Nkulungo and Tedius Mugumanya to carry their hopes.

Caps United on the other hand will be without Washington Pakamisa and Edmore Chapfungamoyo through injuries.

Mangwiro said they were taking the game seriously.

“Our preparations are going on well save for the two injured players in our camp. We respect Quelaton and what they did during the week showed that you can underrate them at your own peril.

They are capable of causing an upset and we respect them,” said Mangwiro.
Caps United just like Quelaton are in high spirits following their 2-0 victory over Blue Rangers on Wednesday.

Mangwiro said he hoped their supporters will come in their numbers to cheer the side.

Former Warriors’ striker Shingi Kawondera, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Leonard Fiyado, Asani Nhongo and ex-Highlanders striker Nqobile Mpala are some of the players that Quelaton should look out for.
