Chirinda sweeps Chicken Inn awards Obriel Chirinda

CHICKEN INN’s leading goal scorer Obriel Chirinda was rewarded with $600 for being chosen man of the match in three games and scooping the Player of the Month for August at the club’s awards event yesterday.

The 21-year-old who has been in terrific form for Chicken Inn, won man-of the match in their 1-1 draw against Ngezi Platinum Stars, 4-0 rout of Nichrut and the 3-2 win over Highlanders.

The man of thematch award prize of $100 per game is being sponsored by Zibuko Capital. The Player of the Month accolade of $500 is bankrolled by Black Shark Security, with the player getting $300 and sharing the other $200.

“I’m happy to have won these awards and it pushes me to keep working harder. I want to thank my coaches who drill me and decide when to play me; my teammates who have been supportive, the club management and sponsors. Hopefully these awards will not only inspire me, but the whole team to keep on working hard,” said Chirinda.
Former Highlanders midfielder Simon Munawa walked away with $300 for his stellar performances against Shabanie Mine, Caps United and Bulawayo Chiefs.

Midfielders Innocent Mucheneka and George Majika, striker Obidiah Tarumbwa as well as defenders Passmore Bernard and Moses Jackson each got $200 for matches they excelled in.

Other players that were rewarded for outstanding performances are goalkeeper Pride Zendera, defenders Guide Goddard, Kudzai Chideu, Last Sithole and Xolani Ndlovu, midfield duo of Clemence Matawu and Wellington Kamudyariwa as well as strikers Darryl Nyandoro and King Nasama.

Zibuko Capital also donated a playing kit to Chicken Inn’s Under-16s. — @ZililoR
