CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn have switched their home ground from Luveve Stadium to White City where they will be hoping to start with victory over FC Platinum tomorrow.

The PSL granted Chicken Inn permission to use the “uneven” White City pitch for their encounter against championship contenders FC Platinum.

The move to White City is part of the Gamecocks’ plans to frustrate the platinum miners, who are known for their passing game.

The initial encounter was postponed because Chicken Inn had more than three players doing duty for the Warriors in the Cosafa Cup in Namibia last month.

Defenders Teenage Hadebe and Lawrence Mhlanga, striker Obidiah Tarumbwa and midfielder Danny Phiri were away with the Warriors.

Conditions at White City don’t favour a passing game because of the uneven pitch.

Despite the game being set for the bumpy White City pitch, football fans should expect an explosive encounter, as both teams will be eager to end the first half of the season strongly.

Chicken Inn are 10th with 19 points and can storm into the top eight if they win tomorrow’s match, while victory for their opponents will see them returning to the top of the table.

However, FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has downplayed the possibility of topping the table.

“It is not about being on top of the log. The most important thing is to get a positive result. Chicken Inn have been doing very well of late, so it is going to be a difficult game,” said Mapeza.

FC Platinum should be wary of the Chicken Inn midfield led by veteran Clemence Matawu, who continues to show that there is no substitute for experience. He has been well complemented by Tafadzwa Kutinyu, Christopher Samakweri, George Majika and Thabani Goredema.

Seasoned striker, Obidiah Tarumbwa, attacking linkman Darryl Nyandoro and right-back Passmore Bernard, who is dangerous whenever he overlaps, also add some impetus into the Chicken Inn play.

FC Platinum can counter with midfielders Winston Mhango, Nqobizitha Masuku, Marshal Mudehwe, Ishmael Wadi and Walter Musona.

The platinum miners also have the likes of defenders Kevin Moyo, Gift Bello and Elvis Moyo, as well as forwards Brian Muzondiwa, Rodwell Chinyengetere and Tatenda Dzumbunu that can open up any team when in form.
