One of the country’s top dancehall cliques, Judgment Yard has been added to the line-up of entertainers that will perform at the prestigious Jameson Victoria Falls Carnival taking place in the resort town from December 29 to 31. Judgement Yard together with popular radio DJ Jaison le Roux will join South Africa’s finest; Gold Fish Live and Beatenburg of the “Pluto- Remember me” fame, Winky D and superstar Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi.

Unfortunately, the big names behind Judgement Yard, DJ Flevah and Etherton B will not be attending the festival but DJ Flevah assured festival-goers that the team which would be going would do their best.

“We are excited about being a part of the carnival. As usual we will serve the best party music as we are not limiting ourselves to dancehall or reggae.
“DJ 2 Bad and MC Asha B will represent Judgment Yard and they will do their best to also expose local music to the international crowd present,” said the group’s spokesperson DJ Flevah.

Organisers of the carnival – which is now in its third year – expressed enthusiasm over the event saying they were staying true to the African roots.
“The Jameson Vic Falls Carnival has released another wave of artistes bolstering the local Zimbabwean and Namibian offering, adding to the already impressive line-up.

“International superstar DJs like Hardwell (one-time world no. 1 DJ), Yolanda Be Cool, Alex Kenji, Belocca & Groove Armada to name a few have been added.”

Hailing from Swakopmund and thrilling audiences in their native Namibia for the past few years, the Curage unit will make their debut at the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival this year. Having played with the best DJs in Namibia, they will now energise this New Year’s festival with their Dubstep and House skills.

Victoria Falls-based legendary spin doctor, DJ Francis, will get the party started with a mix of tunes spanning the decades from 60s rock ’n roll to the disco hits of the 80s, right through to the latest electronic sounds of the 20th century.

Tuku, DJ Francis and Judgement Yard are not new to the carnival as they have performed there before – leaving lasting performances. DJ Francis, who is usually responsible for entertaining carnivalista on the steam train preparing people for the bush party has always been a hit. He often raises the bar a bit too high that DJs who usually play after him seem boring.
