A NATIONAL University of Science and Technology lecturer has been dragged to the maintenance court by his ex-girlfriend for failing to take care of his child.
Eric Sithole”s ex-girlfriend, Senzemuhle Moyo, is demanding $100 a month in child support for their five- month-old baby. Sithole, however, did not attend the court hearing on Tuesday.
“The father of my child is a lecturer at Nust. I beg the court to grant me the order so I can be able to cater for my child’s needs,” said Moyo.
The presiding Magistrate, Sithembiso Ncube, granted Moyo $80.
Ncube has on numerous occasions implored women to make reasonable maintenance claims for child support.
Some women are known to use maintenance as a way of getting back or fixing their “boyfriends” or husbands.
A number of men have demanded paternity tests as a way of trying to evade the unreasonable demands made by the women.
