STAR FM is back in Bulawayo for a live broadcast as part of their “Outside broadcast extravaganza drive.” As the station continues to take radio to the people, it started the broadcast on Tuesday and ends today.

It is being hosted by 326 Express presenters Phathisani “Mukwasha Mboko” Sibanda and Kudzai Violet Gwara (KVG).

The duo, broadcasting live from the Chronicle offices from 3PM to 6PM, is on their final leg of their southern region tour to promote Pearlenta, a National Foods product. They were in Zvishavane last week and will be heading to Gweru next week.

The Chronicle building yesterday was a hive of activity as people dropped by to give shout-outs on the radio station to their friends and loved ones.

Local artistes such as Luveve born rapper Cal_Vin also promoted their music when they were interviewed by the duo.

Star FM public relations and communications manager Beatrice Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said they were taking radio to the people as they wanted the public to get to know their favourite personalities.

“We’re a national radio station and people of Zimbabwe should get to know their personalities in the flesh.

“That’s why we’re doing these outside broadcasts so that the radio station is closer to the people,” said Tonhodzayi-Ngondo.

“Other locations such as Gweru are on our list as this will be part of the OK Grand Challenge promotion.

“We want to expand our brand to all corners of the country and get known by the populace.”
