A TEENAGER from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for breaking into a house and stealing property worth over $30 000.

Arnold Ndlovu (19) of Cowdray Park suburb stole from Mr Lebohang Malumo of Ilanda suburb.

Some of the stolen property includes a Hisense 32-inch television set, three laptops, BMW car keys, a rechargeable light, an Adidas satchel and clothes.

Ndlovu pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Lizwe Jamela.

He was convicted and sentenced to 24 months in prison and six months were suspended on condition he does not within that period commit a similar offence.

Ndlovu has other cases pending before the courts on unlawful entry and theft charges.

Prosecuting, Mr Denmark Chihombe said on January 3 this year during the day, Ndlovu went to Mr Malumo’s house in his absence.

“The accused person jumped over the precast wall at the complainant’s house and went on to force open a front screen door.

While inside, the accused person stole some property and went away,” said Mr Chihombe.

On January 8, police allegedly received information that Ndlovu had stolen some property.

They managed to locate and arrest him.

He was interrogated about the stolen property, and he implicated Brandon and Artwell Ndlovu as his accomplices who are on the run.
