Zim records three more Covid – 19 cases

ZIMBABWE has recorded three new Covid-19 cases, two of them from returning residents, and one a local transmission, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 489.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care said all the new cases have been put under isolation.

The new cases were all reported in Matabeleland North province, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 215.

The new local case is a contact of a known Covid-19 patient. The returning residents were coming from South Africa.

No new cases were reported in Bulawayo which has 24 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

“Three cases tested positive for Covid-19 today. These include returnees from South Africa (2) and one local who are all isolated.

A total of nine Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDT) and 406 PCR tests were done countrywide bringing the total number of tests done so far to 62 812, consisting of 345 955   RDT and 26 857 PCR tests,” reads the statement from the health ministry.

64 people have so far recovered from the virus while the number of deaths remains at six.
