Zimbabwe Saints is on top of the Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League following their away 1-0 victory against Tsholotsho Pirates last weekend.
The former Premier Soccer League club is tied on six points with How Mine and Mpumalanga United who  also won their respective matches during the long Easter holidays.

In an interview yesterday, Sibanda said: “It was a tough game as Tsholotsho Pirates held us and only conceded the goal in the dying minutes of the game. The fact that the players never panicked and kept their composure throughout the match shows that they are ready to win the championship.
“The season will be tough but with the calibre of players that we have, with the right attitude and                  if we manage to  be spot on in every game, I think we will win the title,” said Sibanda.

Zimbabwe Saints’ 55th minute substitute Edward-Pope Khaphantengo slotted home in the 87th minute to give the visitors the three points.
Sibanda has veterans Chipo Tsodzo and Tapela Ngwenya to bank on in his quest for a quick Premiership return.
Bantu Rovers who have had a dance in the top-flight league, ZPC Hwange and How Mine are championship contenders and if Zimbabwe Saints  want to realise their dream of an early Premiership return they have to avoid dropping points.

How Mine made their championship intentions clear by beating  Hwange’s Project in their own backyard 3-1 while ZPC Hwange  were held to a goalless draw in a coal-mining town derby with Hwange Juniors.
