The focus was mainly on Division One players who are below the age of 25 years.
Shabanie Mine are likely to lose the services of Tawanda Mareya to Hwange, Caleb Masocha to Highlanders and the duo of Rowan Nenzou and captain Simon Shoko to neighbours FC Platinum if the two players manage to impress coach Rahman Gumbo. The players are out of contract with the asbestos miners rendering them free to join any club of their choice.

Masomere is also believed to be keen on having the signature of Masvingo United playmaker Pervington Zimunya.
“We were fighting relegation this season and next season I want to finish in the top eight while at the same time aiming at winning the championship. My aim is collecting maximum points at home. What happened last season was not healthy for us as a team because surviving relegation at the last minute was very dangerous and we will start the 2012 season on a better note as we strive to finish in a respectable position.

“I need to sign players to fill every position. I am just calling on all those players who want to come and play for Shabanie to do that now as I am finishing trials on Saturday,” said Masomere.
He is also keeping a close eye on players on trial at FC Platinum.

“If some of the players who went for trials are not signed up and I get the chance to have two or three willing to come to Shabanie Mine I will be very happy,” he said.
Shabanie Mine survived relegation by a whisker this past season. Yesterday club chairman Webster Chitono, secretary Chengetai Phiri and coaches Masomere and Elvis Muuya were busy going through the list of players.
