A FAMILY from Worringham plots on the outskirts of Bulawayo is seeking assistance for their five-month-old triplets.

Two of the triplets need to undergo an urgent operation to correct stomach complications.

Their father, Phineas Ngwenya, said he depends on menial work on farms and was being overwhelmed by their needs.

He said the triplets are not breastfeeding and every week he has to buy milk worth about $20.

“The doctor said they should go for an urgent operation. We’ve transport problems, and they’re not having enough milk,” he said.

Their mother, Khonza Dlodlo, said she was failing to breastfeed the children as she was not having enough food to feed herself.

“After giving birth, I remained admitted to the United Bulawayo Hospitals as my children were underweight. They were born on December 20 last year but I haven’t been able to breastfeed them due to my inability to produce enough breast milk for them,” said Dlodlo.

She said their father has not been paid for some time for work he does at nearby farms. They are also raising two other children aged nine and two years.

“We’re really appealing for help. The children need to be fed and they’re underweight,” she added.

Those who are willing to assist can visit plot Number 51, Worringham, or call 0734 441 733.
